Introduction
Dorr is an iOS image editing app developed by Orca Labs. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how Dorr collects, uses, and safeguards your data when you use the app.
Data Collection and Usage
- Local Image Processing: All images and edits are processed locally on your device. Dorr does not send or store your images on external servers. This means your photos and edited images remain private and never leave your iPhone or iPad.
- On-Device Machine Learning: Dorr uses machine learning models powered by Apple's CoreML framework. These models run entirely on your device and do not collect, train on, or transmit any of your data. The app's features work offline, ensuring that your content stays on your device.
- Analytics and Crash Reporting: We use Google Firebase for basic analytics and crash reporting. This helps us understand user behavior and improve app stability. Firebase collects general usage data (such as how often certain features are used) and crash data (to diagnose and fix issues). All data collected by Firebase is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and is used in aggregate form. No personally identifiable information (PII) is included in these analytics, and we do not see individual user data.
- No Other Third-Party Data Collection: Apart from Firebase, Dorr does not use any third-party services that collect user data. The only other external SDKs are those provided by Apple for App Store subscriptions and purchase validation. These Apple services handle subscription data according to Apple's own privacy policies, and Dorr itself does not access or store your subscription payment information.
- Advertising (Google AdMob): Dorr displays banner and interstitial ads using Google AdMob. These ads are strictly non-personalized, meaning they are not based on your personal profile or behavior. To serve these ads, Google may collect limited device information (such as your IP address and device identifiers) solely for ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud prevention. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected by Dorr or shared with Google through AdMob. For more information, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses data from partner apps.
Data Retention
- Analytics Data: Data collected through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics is retained according to Firebase's default data retention policies. This typically means that analytic data is stored on Google's servers for the duration defined by Google to analyze trends and app usage.
- Crash Reports: Crash report information (which does not contain personal data) is also stored by Firebase/Google under their standard retention schedule to help us resolve issues.
- No Personal Data Storage: Orca Labs does not collect or store any of your personal information on our own servers. Since Dorr processes data on-device and does not require account registration, we do not have any PII to retain. In summary, we keep what Firebase collects for analytics and crashes, and nothing more.
User Rights and Choices
- Opt-Out of Analytics: You have the right to opt out of analytics tracking. Dorr honors iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) settings. If you decline tracking permission, Firebase Analytics will not collect data from your app usage. You can also disable analytics at any time by adjusting your device's privacy settings for Dorr.
- Managing Firebase Data: Although Dorr itself does not store personal data, the analytics and crash data stored with Firebase can be managed according to Google’s policies. For example, if you want to delete certain data associated with your usage, you can follow Google’s processes for data removal. Please refer to Google’s Firebase Privacy information for details on how to manage or request deletion of data collected by Firebase.
- Permissions: Dorr may request access to your device’s photo library to select and save images. Granting this permission is optional, but without it, the app’s core functionality (editing and saving images) will be limited. This access is only used for editing photos and not for any other purpose.
- Ad Preferences: Dorr only serves non-personalized ads. You can control ad-related preferences at the device level. On iOS, you can go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking to disable ad tracking, or Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising to turn off personalized ads (even though Dorr does not use them). These settings are respected by Google AdMob as well.
Children’s Privacy
Dorr is available for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Since the app does not collect personal data beyond analytics (which contain no PII), there is no specific data collected from children. Parents and guardians can use the app with peace of mind that Dorr does not gather children’s personal data.
